Dr. Cho received his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, Cincinnati, OH. Dr. Cho then completed his ophthalmology residency at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education-Army, Fort Sam Houston, TX, prior to pursuing a fellowship at the University of Michigan Hospitals, Ann Arbor, MI. 

Dr. Cho served as an Army physician for 21 years before retiring from the military and joining The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, where he is Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He has served as chair of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery oral examination committee, received the American Academy of Ophthalmology Achievement Award, and is the current President of the North American Society of Academic Orbital Surgeons. Dr. Cho’s specialty interests include orbital trauma, orbital tumors, thyroid eye disease, transorbital skull base surgery, periocular reconstruction, and lacrimal outflow disorders.
