Dr. Perry received his medical degree from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York, where he was awarded the McGraw-Hill Book Prize. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, earning the Shipman Prize for best research paper. He then pursued fellowship training at the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins University and the Jules Stein Eye Institute at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he received the Clinical Research Award. Dr. Perry is the senior surgeon at the Cole Eye Institute, trained through an American Society of Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS)-approved fellowship.

His clinical practice focuses on aesthetic and reconstructive oculofacial surgery, including cosmetic blepharoplasty, brow and midface lifting, neuromodulator and dermal filler injections, lacrimal surgery, orbital surgery, and comprehensive ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive procedures. His clinical interests encompass surgical management of eyelid, brow, forehead, and cheek conditions, including skin cancers, tumors, trauma, and related disorders.

Dr. Perry is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and the Cleveland Ophthalmological Society. Within ASOPRS, he has served on multiple committees, including the Executive Committee, and previously served as Program Chairman.

He directs one of the ASOPRS-approved fellowship programs and has trained surgeons who now practice at Cleveland Clinic and across the United States. Dr. Perry has delivered numerous named lectureships, grand rounds, and visiting professorships, and continues to lecture nationally and internationally.

An accomplished academic surgeon, Dr. Perry has authored more than 170 peer-reviewed publications, approximately 50 book chapters, and three textbooks. He serves as Executive Editor of the American Journal of Ophthalmology and Associate Editor of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Over the past 25 years, he has participated more than 100 times as an invited lecturer, visiting professor, course faculty member, and course director.

Dr. Perry also serves on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s Ophthalmic Devices Panel. He has received the Cole Eye Institute Resident Teaching Award three times and the Cleveland Clinic Innovator Award twice, and he holds two U.S. and international patents.
