John B. Holds, MD
Dr. Holds is an ophthalmic plastic surgeon at Ophthalmic Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Holds received his undergraduate degree from Trinity University and completed medical school in the top five of his class, all four years at Southwestern in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Holds completed his residency at Baylor College of Medicine, Cullen Eye Institute. He then went on to complete a two-year fellowship training in oculofacial surgery.
Dr. John Holds worked with “oculinum” toxin, later known as Botox, when it was investigational in the 1980s, further performing neuroanatomic and clinical work in this area.
Dr. Holds is the author of numerous textbooks and over 100 peer-reviewed papers in periocular, plastic, and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Holds also hosts PAWS surgery workshops and has been selected as one of the “Best Doctors in America” since 1994. Eyelid and midfacial rejuvenation is a special interest of Dr. Holds.
